Since BB Lightpipes have no annoying glare effect on both train drivers and passengers, they have been chosen to replace the dated TL-luminaires. In addition, high light uniformity, low maintenance costs, long life and high vandalism resistance played a decisive role.
The BB Lightpipe EVO, with a length of 4 and 6 meters, were used to create an aesthetic and visually continuous line above the platform and to maximize passenger comfort.
In addition, half of the luminaires are equipped with integrated emergency batteries, eliminating the need for additional emergency lights. In the event of an emergency, these batteries take over the power supply and thus increase safety by illuminating an evacuation path on the platform.
The BB Lightpipe EVO
This lightpipe comprises a continuous, optical and modular lighting system consisting of polycarbonate tubes in an aluminum support. A LED module consisting of 18 LEDs emits the light in an impact-resistant polycarbonate tube, in which an optical foil is applied. This foil ensures a constant, uniform and glare-free light distribution.

The BB Lightpipe EVO offers the possibility to dim by means of DALI or a motion detector in order to achieve the highest possible energy savings.

The BB Lightpipe ECO has an IK10 + and IP66 degree of protection and is therefore impact-resistant and splash-proof.

All LED modules of the BB Lightpipes are certified with the DEKRA "LED Performance Mark" certificate. This certification relates to both performance (life expectancy and color stability) and electrical safety (KEMA-KEUR) of tested products. The LED Performance Mark is based on DEKRA's extensive experience in this field and is awarded after extensive product testing (performance and safety) and factory audits.

Thanks to the Synergrid inspection (lump sum for public lighting), the BB Lightpipes can also be used at remote locations directly connected to the public grid ('for the meter'), such as bicycle shelters, underpasses and shelters.
